Please call your Representative in the U.S. House (202-224-3121, switchboard).

Tell them to pass the DC Local Funds Act to fix the $1 billion hole they created in the DC budget. 

Because we are a federal district — not a state — they have to approve our use of our own locally raised funds.

The Senate already fixed this with a unanimous voice vote. Now it is up to the House, but they are stalling.

Passing this bill will not affect the federal budget because the $1 billion is entirely from DC local taxes, as confirmed by the Congressional Budget Office.

But without this fix, DC will have to cut about $1 billion from the last 5 months of our FY 2025 budget — seriously affecting public safety, public education and public health.

Because you have a Representative who can vote to respect DC's limited Home Rule, please tell them to pass the DC Local Funds Act as passed by the Senate ASAP.
