COMBAT ELECTION DIS/MIS/MAL - INFORMATION

The League of Women Voters takes on Dis/Mis/Mal Information. Here  are the tools and information that you can use to combat these threats.  The materials below are ours to use and integrate into our conversations, training, and voter education.  We urge you to review them and join the battle against Mis/Dis/Mal information in the run up to this year’s election.

Proactive Practice & Tactics to Combat Mis/Dis/Mal-information

One of the most engaging presentations at the recent LWV  convention was “ Proactive Practice & Tactics to Combat Mis/Dis/Mal-information.”   Leagues across the US are urged to help our communities to  identify, respond, and disrupt  the spread of these communications that  affect voter turn- out, voter attitudes,  and trust in the electoral process. Underserved, minority, and immigrant voters are often the targets of these campaigns.  Click on the button above to see the presentation, which focuses on

- understanding mis/dis/mal information, what drives it, and the polarization and fear that it creates.

- strategies for tackling it and building community resilience

- how to disrupt the further transmission of these communications.

In addition, there is a one-page handout in English and Spanish on the “Do’s and Don’ts” of Election Information - click on the button below to view and download.
