52456407545_208f0f90f4_o.jpg

The materials on this page are designed to prepare LWVDC volunteers for registering voters in our community.

Our work in the District is people-powered, and that power is you! Thank you for taking time to learn how to register voters, and even more, thank you for showing up in and for your community!

Instructions

If you have signed up to volunteer at an upcoming LWVDC voter registration event, please:

  1. Watch the video below.
  2. Download the presentation materials.
  3. Verify you've engaged the training using the linked form below.

You'll only need to do this once per election cycle, unless a League leader requests otherwise.

***A NOTE ABOUT NON CITIZEN VOTER REGISTRATION***

Since we recorded this training session, DC has implemented a newly passed law allowing non-citizen voting in local elections. The training video does not address this change, but the slides have been updated. Non Citizens who are residents of the District of Columbia should use the YELLOW non-citizen registration form, or the specific DC Board of Elections Non Citizen Voting Site, when registering to ensure they receive ballots for local elections only. It is our responsibility to help voters use the appropriate form for their circumstances.
